About the competition

The search for the 2011 WA's best country pub steak sandwich has commenced! The successful competition is now in its fourth year and is bigger and meatier than ever! Click here to read the media release 

Country Pubs from across WA have nominated to take part in the 2011 competition. The month of April is full of promotion across radio, newspapers, websites and magazines driving people to visit a country pub and bite into an Aussie icon.  The competition is judged by the general public/venue patrons through an online voting system. The pub in each tourism region with the most number of votes becomes a finalist! The five finalists are invited to attend the grand cook-off at Hospitality Expo on Wednesday 1 June 2011 at Burswood Entertainment Complex.

2011 Finalists Announced

Online voting for the 2011 WA's Best Country Pub Steak Sandwich Competition has now closed. Thank you to the hundreds of steak sandwich lovers that lodged their votes online to support WA Country Pubs.

The five finalists will compete in the Steak Sandwich grand final cook-off at Hospitality Expo 2011, Burswood Entertainment Complex at 2pm on Wednesday 1st June.

Paul Murray, the former editor of the West Australian and radio personality on 6PR, will MC the cook off. There will be an industry and celebrity judging panel who will decide the overall winner of the title ‘2011 WA’s Best Country Pub Steak Sandwich’.
