WA On Show - Hotels Welcome Oprah's Guests Visiting WA 

PERTH will be under the spotlight in the United States when Oprah Winfrey gives away a trip to Perth on her show next week. The Oprah Winfrey Show is travelling to Sydney from December 7 to 15 and taking 300 Americans with it.

Oprah announced on Tuesday she would give away a trip to Perth for one of her audience to travel to the Western Australian capital with a guest before meeting up with the group in Sydney. Click here to read more. 

 

Letter to Oprah on Wangle

Ok so we were the last ones to find out about it. Nevermind. We know now. Oprah Winfrey is coming to town – well Sydney and Melbourne are confirmed – but what about Western Australia?

While some believe WA stands for “Wait Awhile,” that’s not the ethos of Bradley Woods, the Chief Executive of the Australian Hotels Association. He’s already taken the liberty of writing to Ms Winfrey, extolling the virtues of Western Australia. Click here to read more.

 

 

 

 

As you may know, Oprah Winfrey is heading to Australia - New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland and is bringing 300 of her US viewers to record two episodes of her television program. At this point in time Western Australia is not yet on the map.

Tourism Australia, the Governments of New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, together with Qantas, R.M.Williams and Network 10, have also put their support behind the venture. We want Western Australia to be given the opportunity to be involved as well.

Harpo producers will fly to Australia later this month on a reconnaissance mission to confirm filming locations and last night the AHA wrote directly to Oprah Winfrey and her production company, inviting her to visit Western Australia as part of her tour. We also offered to host and provide free accommodation to all of her crew and 300 guests at our industries cost.

Whilst it appears that the Queensland, New South Wales and Victorian Governments knew about this opportunity well in advance and have committed to supporting the program and partially sponsoring it, the AHA (WA) will do whatever we can to help the WA State Government and Tourism WA to get Oprah Winfrey to Western Australia.
