Western Australia’s hospitality industry is an integral part of our community’s way of life and is complimented by the fact that our state has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We all get to enjoy these beaches safely, due to the hard work and dedication of the volunteers of the Surf Life Saving Western Australia (SLSWA).
The Australian Hotels Association (WA) and SLSWA have formed an exciting new partnership through the “Local Life Saver” campaign to be conducted in November 2009. The campaign will raise critical funds to support SLSWA’s training of new volunteers and the purchase and upgrading of new equipment, all of which is critical in the saving of lives.
Every hotel and hospitality venue that pledges their support and participates in the “Local Life Saver” campaign throughout November will receive the following benefits:
A key component to the success of the “Local Life Saver” campaign will be the donation of a certain amount of money from every glass of mid strength or light beer, soft drinks and/or coffee sold over the month of November, or a specific donation.
You can calculate your support to SLSWA in one of two ways:
1. By estimating your sales across the month and making a donation
OR
2. By tracking every glass of mid strength or light beer, soft drink and/or coffee sold across the 30 days and donating a percentage
As an example, 10 cents from every glass sold over the month of November would equate to the following:
1) A venue sells 5,000 glasses
over the course of the month
2) It is decided that 10 cents
from every glass sold will be donated to the “Local Life Saver”
campaign
3) At the end of November $500
is donated to the “Local Life Saver”
campaign
If you would like to participate please register by 5.00 pm Wednesday 21st October.
