The 2008 Premier Motors Volvo WA Hospitality Supplier Awards was a shining success, recognising the delivery of excellence by product and service providers to the State's hospitality industry.

Australian Hotels Association (WA) CEO, Bradley Woods, said it was a significant night for the hospitality industry in Western Australia.

"This industry deserves to be rewarded and recognised for outstanding achievement in ensuring the State has a hospitality industry that rivals anywhere in the world."

Former Liberal Party front-bencher and long time supporter of the State's hospitality industry, Trevor Sprigg was posthumously recognised with the "Liquor and Hospitality Industry Achievement Award" at the function attended by 500 representatives of the industry.

"Spriggy was a very real supporter of the State's hospitality industry. His passing not only leaves a big hole in the lives of those who were close to him, but to the entire fabric of Western Australian society," Mr Woods said.
