The AHA & Coca-Cola Hospitality Awards for Excellence, presented at the Hahn Gala Ball, recognise the venues and individuals who achieve great things in Western Australia’s vibrant hospitality industry.

 

The awards honour the state’s top hotels, bars, pubs, taverns and restaurants, along with the dedicated staff who drive their success.

 

With more than 40 award categories, there’s an award for every type of hospitality venue, from pubs and taverns to small bars and restaurants.

This year’s awards attracted a record 605 nominations from across the state, reflecting the strength and diversity of WA’s hospitality sector.

 

Please note that accommodation hotels are recognised separately at the AHA Accommodation Awards in April.

AWARD CATEGORIES

OVERALL AWARDS

This award recognises groups that own and operate six or more venues.

WA’s Best Regional Hospitality Venue – must be a regional venue. No submissions taken.

Must be in the metropolitan area. No submissions taken.

GENERAL AWARDS

This award recognises the venue that has made significant contributions to its community through fundraising and charity events.

This award recognises the hospitality venue that has exceptional in-house training programs.

This award recognises a bottleshop for its outstanding customer service, sales, promotions, and range of product.

This award recognises the venue with exceptional cellar practices and beer presentation, while maintaining industry compliance and a safe working environment.

This award recognises bars that excel in presentation, beverage menu variety, and exceptional customer service.

This award recognises outstanding food and beverage offerings in WA’s best small bar. Your venue must hold a small bar liquor license to be eligible for nomination.

This award recognises the best cocktail bar, whether a standalone venue or within another establishment.

This award recognises a venue’s initiatives that have helped boost tourism in their market.

This award recognises venues for their exceptional events and conference services.

This award recognises the best outdoor areas, from beer gardens to alfresco dining and pet-friendly spaces.

This award recognises creativity, quality and innovation in craft beer-making.

This award recognises venues that have undergone redevelopment while operating as a previous or current hospitality business

This award recognises newly established hospitality businesses known for their exceptional décor, innovative design features and unique offerings.

This award recognises an outstanding country pub in regional Western Australia that maintains its authentic character while delivering great country hospitality.

This award recognises excellence in venue promotion, including comprehensive social media strategies.

DINING AWARDS

The Metro and country WA finalists were determined at the 2026 AHA Hospitality Expo cook-off.

This award recognises the venue with the best bar menu in WA, focusing on innovation, diversity and exceptional presentation.

This award recognises the venue offering the best casual dining experience in the Perth metropolitan area.

This award recognises a restaurant that has opened in the past 12 months (since August 2025) and consistently demonstrated excellent reviews.

This award recognises the venue that offers value for money, a range of varietals, representation of WA wines, options for wines by the glass, and high-quality wine service.

ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS

This award recognises the venue with the best PubTAB experience in the Perth Metro WA.

This award recognises the venue with the best PubTAB experience in a regional area of WA.

This award recognises the venue that provides an outstanding experience for sporting enthusiasts.

This award recognises a venue’s commitment to providing regular live entertainment.

This award recognises the venue with a unique customer offering based on a distinctive theme.

EMPLOYEE AWARDS

This award recognises an individual who has rapidly advanced in their role and shows potential to progress further.

Cook, Kitchen Hand – This award recognises a staff member who demonstrates excellence in the kitchen, a strong work ethic, and potential for further growth within the hospitality industry. This category is not open to apprentice chefs. Apprentice chefs should be nominated in the Apprentice Chef Award category.

Commis Chef, 1st Year, 2nd Year, 3rd Year Apprentice Chef – Recognising an emerging culinary professional who demonstrates passion, skill development, professionalism, and outstanding potential within the hospitality industry. Nominees must be 18 years of age and over at time of nomination.

This award recognises an outstanding chef for their expertise in produce and menu creation.

This award recognises the best bartender, F&B attendant, or banquet staff member.

This award recognises an individual who excels in an administrative service capacity.

This award recognises the best cocktail bartender.

This award recognises an individual for their outstanding knowledge and achievements at the venue.

This award recognises an outstanding bar manager responsible for the venue’s bar operations

This award recognises an outstanding restaurant manager overseeing daily operations and dining area management.

Excludes Owner Managers. This award recognises an outstanding venue manager. You can nominate yourself for this award, or be nominated by the venue, but you must have been in a management position for at least two years to qualify.

This award recognises a group of people working as a team.
