The Australian Hotels Association (WA) supports the announcement today from the WA Government that Perth will be the exclusive host of a prestigious boxing extravaganza set to take place at RAC Arena on May 12, 2024.

This extraordinary event will feature three World Title fights, including the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Lightweight World Title, securing an Australian-exclusive experience for fans.

AHA(WA) CEO Bradley Woods said thousands of out-of-state visitors and Western Australians are anticipated to converge at RAC Arena to witness the world’s finest boxers in action, with the event also reaching a global audience through broadcast in over 100 countries.

Mr Woods said “This significant announcement aligns seamlessly with the WA Government’s vision for Western Australia to become the fastest-growing events destination in the South East Asian region.”

“The addition of these world title fights further enhances the list of exclusive blockbuster events that the WA Government has recently secured and hosted, including two Coldplay concerts late last year and the much-anticipated WWE Elimination Chamber: Perth on Saturday, February 24, at Optus Stadium.”

“The economic benefits as a result of leisure visitors will be compounded by the corporate and travel packages made available for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Events like these are the perfect opportunity for meetings and incentive groups from all around the world to travel to Perth and experience something out of the ordinary.”

The Australian Hotels Association encourages all boxing enthusiasts and event-goers to seize this unique opportunity to be part of an historic moment in Perth’s growing reputation as a premier events destination.
