WA’S BEST STEAK SANDWICH COMPETITION HEATS UP

5 May 2025 |The Australian Hotels Association (WA) has announced that public voting is now open for the 2025 AHA & Little Creatures WA’s Best Steak Sandwich competition.

Now in its 18th year, this iconic competition sees metro and regional venues from across Western Australia compete for the coveted title of WA’s Best Steak Sandwich. This year, more than 50 Perth venues and 19 regional venues have put their steak sandwich up to be grilled by the public.

Public votes and mystery judge visits throughout May will determine the top four metropolitan and four regional finalists, who will then go head-to-head in a live cook-off at the 2025 AHA Hospitality Expo at Crown Perth on 24 and 25 June.

AHA(WA) CEO Bradley Woods said the competition has become a much-loved institution on WA’s hospitality calendar, showcasing the passion, creativity and skill of chefs from across the state.

“The WA’s Best Steak Sandwich competition captures the heart of Western Australia’s vibrant hospitality scene,” Mr Woods said. “It’s an opportunity for venues to showcase their culinary flair, engage with their communities, and be recognised for producing one of WA’s most iconic and loved dishes.

“This year’s competition promises to be a thrilling one, and we encourage everyone to get behind their favourite venue and help them secure a place in the live cook-offs.”

Voting is open now and closes on 26 May 2025. Finalists will be notified on 28 May, with the live cook-offs taking place during the AHA Hospitality Expo.
