Important change to Annualised Salary arrangements

As part of its Four Yearly Review of Modern Awards, the Fair Work Commission (FWC) has amended the annualised wage arrangements in the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020 (HIGA) and the Restaurant Industry Award 2020 (RIA).

Updated HIGA & RIA Wage Schedules

Wage increases for employees engaged under either the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020 (HIGA) or the Restaurant Industry Award 2020 (RIA) take effect from the first full pay on or after 1 October 2022.

Queen's Memorial Day & Birthday public holidays

This year, there will be a one-off public holiday on the national day of mourning for Queen Elizabeth II. Accordingly, this year the public holidays are:

  • Queen’s Memorial Day – Thursday, 22 September 2022
  • Queen’s Birthday – Monday, 26 September 2022.
