The Lion Gala Ball last night was the premier awards program for WA’s hospitality industry attracted historic levels of interest, reflecting the strength and quality of the state’s hotels, bars, pubs, taverns and restaurants.

AHA(WA) CEO Bradley Woods said the awards provided an important opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary hospitality offering found across Perth and regional WA.

“This is the first time in three years we can celebrate WA’s hospitality venues and their dedicated staff, with the pandemic firmly in the rear-view mirror,” Mr Woods said.

“We are now in an envious position where WA’s hospitality industry has not just survived the pandemic, it is a strong position and with a number of new, high-quality venues.”

“WA is now open to the world and presenting a world class offering to prospective visitors and locals alike.”

“In a sign of the industry’s strength, there are now over 105,000 people working in WA’s hospitality industry, nearly 10 per cent more than we had leading into the pandemic.”

“As a service sector, WA’s hospitality industry is heavily reliant on the dedication of the extraordinary staff that drive the success of venues across the state. Last night’s awards provided an opportunity to commend those who constantly pursue hospitality excellence.”

Last night’s award winners included The Beaufort (Perth’s Best Hospitality Venue), Treendale Farm Hotel (WA’s Best Regional Hospitality Venue), Wildflower (Superior Restaurant Award), Flight Club (Themed Venue Award) and Finlay’s Kalbarri (Tourism Initiative Award).
